The inaugural  TEDx Portland was held at the Armory in the Pearl District on April 29th, 2011.  The event was sold out, filling all 599 seats. Spearheaded by David Rae and Mark Starky, the Crossroads themed TEDx featured inspiration from some local legends including Jim Riswold of Wieden Kennedy, Nike designer Tinker Hatfield and musical guests including Storm Large and Thomas Lauderdale.

Swanson Studio’s photographers Sean Reynolds and Tyler Ashlock tag teamed the photo booth featuring a background created by W & K, shooting groups of guests during the breaks.  Marcus Swanson also documented the event for the TEDx Portland site, and for fun!

Special thanks to TEDx Portland adviser Kevin Carroll for connecting Swanson Studio to the event and once again “Katalyzing” fun and inspiration for the studio, wahoo! I must also mention that our dear friend Kevin Carroll has yet another accomplishment to be proud of. He is one of the 17 finalists from the TED Full Spectrum auditions!!!
